Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is the funding given to schools by the Government to support the attainment, progress and wellbeing of a number of children who are either:

entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) or those who have been entitled in the last 6 years;

children of Armed Service Personnel;
-
Children Looked After (CLA), children who have been adopted since 2008 or those with a Special Guardianship Order (SGO) or Residence Order (RO).
The money is used to fund initiatives that will help those pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially. Please see how we are spending this additional funding below.
Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However, we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils from low income families. From September 2012, we have been required to publish online information about how we have used this premium. This will ensure that parents, carers and others are made fully aware of the attainment of pupils covered by the premium and the extra support that they receive.

The next review of the Pupil Premium spending will be in December 2025.
How are we spending the Pupil Premuim Funding?
In 2024-2025 Portfield Primary Academy received £163, 848 for Pupil Premium, the allocation of funding can be found on the Pupil Premium plan on the right hand list. (Funding in 2023-24 was £189,014).
